Dr. Gloria Crutchfield    is a Florida licensed clinical psychologist.  She was born in Colombia, South America, and is fluent in both English and Spanish.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Florida and went on to complete the graduate program (Masters and PhD) in Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida (1992).  She completed her clinical internship at Duke University Medical Center.  Post-graduate work has included several years of community mental health at Northside Mental Health Center in Tampa, Florida, followed by years of outpatient work at Morton Plant Hospital (Behavioral Health Management Services) and private group practice.  Although Dr. Crutchfield has a solid foundation in the treatment of children and families, her primary focus is to work with individual adults.

Dr. Crutchfield uses an eclectic approach in her work with clients.  She believes in the power, support, and richness of the therapeutic relationship in fostering forward movement in individuals, while also teaching her clients productive coping skills that will assist them in taking action steps that lead to positive transformation in their lives.  She sees personal growth as a process of experience, conscious choice-making, and consistent integration of what is learned about self and others.  Dr. Crutchfield’s work with clients includes helping individuals gain an understanding of how their past has influenced current coping styles and relationship choices, and how their way of thinking influences their emotions and behavior.   She knows that it is not until individuals see hope and assume personal responsibility for their fulfillment that they empower themselves to create change.
